The paintings and drawings in this collection are based on symbolism in the natural world. Many of the compositions make reference to fairy tales and children's books, such as 'Snow White' and 'Watership Down'. Most of the pieces are pushed into a high level of detail and repetitive patterns. I like to stretch the possibilities of what the eye can absorb before the composition is at risk of getting lost in a chaos of lines. With this, I am trying to explore the delicacy and force, grace and grit of the world outside of us as well as inside of us.
