Brendan Killian

Brendan Killian acted as the Curator for the first five Arthouses. Since the 34-36 Tower Street Arthouse, The Boston Home Team has curated with Brendan acting as consultant.

Brendan's thoughts on Arthouse:
"As the acting curator for Arthouse I've had the great privilege of working with some of the area's most accomplished artists. They encompass a wide range of creative styles, from traditional figure painting to highly conceptual installation. No matter the individual ascetic, medium or technique the one common trait they all share is a personal commitment to quality in they're work.

Due to the unconventional setting, programming Arthouse presents many challenges as well as a unique opportunity to exploit the specific character and history embodied in each house we exhibit in. We encourage participating artists to 'find' a space that conforms to they're individual creative sensibilities and logistical requirements, weather it be an entire room or a less obvious closet or corner.

This approach promotes a certain level of intimacy between the artist and the space they occupy in which the space then reflects the character of it's occupant and their art work. In this respect Arthouse participants collectively create a vibrant community for the duration of the event and transform an otherwise vacant property into a home."
